UMBC campuses are closed, but courses are now online and employees are working remotely.

“Welcome to UMBC! I am delighted that you will be joining our exciting campus, where you will find a diverse and inquisitive community of learners. Orientation marks the beginning of one of the most important journeys of your life. I challenge you to take advantage of all that the University has to offer and allow yourself to be inspired!”

We are so excited to welcome you to our family and community this upcoming year. One of the first steps you’ll take as you join our community is new student Orientation. Due to the rapidly changing environment and protocols around COVID-19, our Orientation program will no longer be held as an in-person event. Instead, we’re putting everyone’s health first and moving to a virtual medium. Don’t worry — your Orientation experience will be just as in-depth and informative as it has ever been, with many opportunities for you to engage with our Orientation Peer Advisors (OPAs) and staff throughout the summer. The Online Orientation platform will be up and running in late June, so stay tuned for more details!
